Apprenticeships

This course is free to apprentices. Small companies may need to make a contribution towards training costs, large companies could pay through the apprenticeship levy, if they have funds available

Study the Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting to master complex accounting tasks and qualify for senior finance roles, as well as AAT full membership.

Entry Criteria

Must hold AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting, or equivalent qualification.

Must be employed full-time in a relevant accountancy or finance role.

What are the next steps?

You will be invited into the College to attend an interview. Please bring a copy of your AAT Level 3 completion Certificate and Maths and English achievement at Level 2.

Study Aims

This Level 4 qualification covers complex accounting and finance topics and tasks to develop your confidence in a wide range of financial management skills and applications.

You will gain competencies in drafting financial statements for limited companies, recommending accounting systems strategies and constructing and presenting complex management accounting reports.

Modules Studied

The mandatory units are:

  • Applied Management Accounting
  • Drafting and Interpreting Financial Statements
  • Internal Accounting Systems and Controls.

The optional units are:

  • Business Tax
  • Personal Tax
  • Audit and Assurance
  • Cash and Financial Management
  • Credit and Debt Management

Teaching and Assessment

The course is assessed via computer based assessments which are taken throughout the year, and marked by the AAT.

End Point Assessment

Apprentices undertake an End Point Assessment which includes a synoptic examination, a portfolio and reflective discussion or written statement.
